Nuclear Engineering Technology Sample Course of Study

Nuclear Engineering Technology

Offered only at Luminant/Comanche Peak, TX

Nuclear Engineering Technology is the application of knowledge in mathematics and science to the safe applications of nuclear principles for production of power, waste disposal, medicine, non-destructive examination and manufacturing. The Nuclear Power Industry provides 20% of the electricity in the United States. Worldwide, the nuclear industry has a gross product greater than all but ten countries. Radiopharmeceuticals have saved or improved countless lives. Management and utilization of radioactive materials is the great work of the 20th century and the hope of the 21st.

The UNT program was one of the first baccalaureate degree programs in Nuclear Engineering Technology to receive TAC of ABET in the United States. The program has been in existence for eight years and is currently delivered to two off-site locations by video conference.

Students who have interest in power production, radio pharmeceuticals, geology, space exploration, mathematics, science, and environmental science should look into our program and see what we have to offer.
